Privacy Policy & Cookie Disclosure
Last Updated: October 31, 2026 · Effective Date: Immediate
At Panera Menu (accessible at https://panera-menu-price.com), this Privacy Policy explains in plain language what information is collected when you browse the site and use the calculator, and what is not.
Zero Accounts or Logins
We do not require user registration, passwords, phone numbers, or credit card billing. You can browse completely anonymously.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure which pages are visited. We do not add advertising or remarketing code.
Saved in Your Browser
Your calculator meal tray and daily calorie goal are saved in your browser's local storage and are not sent to our server.
We Never Sell Data
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not hand email addresses to advertisers or data brokers.
Personal Information We Do Not Collect
Panera Menu is an informational site with no sign-up, checkout or forms. The site code does not:
- Create or keep user accounts.
- Ask for names, addresses or phone numbers. The only way to give us such details is to email us.
- Take payments or financial details.
- Request your contacts, camera or microphone.
- Request your location unless you press Use my location on the near-me page. That location is used inside your browser to sort the cafe list and is not sent to us.
The cafe finder on the near-me page also talks to two outside services, only when you ask it to. If you search for a street address, or for a place that is not a city in our list, the text you typed is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim search service to find its position. If you press Pin on Map, an embedded Google Maps map loads from Google. Searching by ZIP code or by a city in our list sends nothing anywhere. Those services have their own privacy policies.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) & Measurement Technologies
To see which pages are used and how they perform, the site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”).
What Google Analytics does:
- •First-Party Cookies: GA4 places small text cookies (such as
_gaand_ga_*) on your browser to calculate visitor, session, and campaign data for site analytics reports. - •Usage data: GA4 records standard technical and usage data such as pages viewed, browser and device type, referring page, time of visit and approximate location. Google describes what it collects in its own documentation.
- •IP addresses: Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We have not verified this independently; see Google's documentation for its current position.
- •No advertising code: The site does not include advertising or remarketing scripts. We have not changed Google Analytics settings beyond the standard tag, so Google's own account-level options apply.
How you can opt out:
You can stop Google Analytics from recording your visits in either of these ways:
- Official Google Opt-Out Add-on: You can download and install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This browser extension instructs the Google Analytics JavaScript (
gtag.js) to prohibit sending visit telemetry to Google servers. - Browser Cookie Controls: You can configure your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) to block cookies entirely or notify you before a cookie is set.
Client-Side Local Storage & Meal Tray Data
Our interactive Panera Nutrition Calculator enables you to build custom meal trays (combining soups, salads, sandwiches, and bakery sides) and observe real-time macronutrient totals.
So your meal is still there when you come back, your chosen items, portion sizes and daily calorie goal are saved in your browser's localStorage.
- This data stays in your browser on your device.
- The site does not send it to our server.
- You can remove items with the calculator's “Clear all” button, or erase the saved data by clearing your browser's site data.
- When you use “Share link”, the items, quantities and calorie goal are encoded in the part of the link after the # sign. Anyone you send the link to can see them. Browsers do not send that part of a link to the web server.
Server Log Files & Infrastructure Security
Like most websites, the server that hosts this site may keep standard access logs, such as the requesting IP address, browser details, the page requested and the time. These are used for security and troubleshooting, not for advertising. How long the host keeps them depends on its settings, which this page does not state.
Third-Party Links & External Content
Our website provides citations and links to external third-party resources, including Panera's official nutrition and allergen guides and Google's analytics tools. We have no control over the privacy policies, tracking practices, or terms of third-party websites. When navigating to external links, we encourage you to review their respective privacy notices.
Children's Online Privacy Protection (COPPA)
Panera Menu is designed for general consumer audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or store personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has inadvertently provided personal data to us, please contact us immediately at restaurantscalories@gmail.com, and we will promptly delete all associated records.
Your Rights Under California (CCPA/CPRA) and European (GDPR) Laws
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as California under the CCPA/CPRA or the European Economic Area under GDPR), you possess specific consumer privacy rights regarding your digital information:
- Right to Know / Access: You can ask what personal data we hold. The site itself keeps none; the only personal data we receive is what you choose to email us, and analytics data is collected by Google.
- Right to Deletion: You can ask us to delete anything you have emailed us.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale / Sharing: We do not sell personal data.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: Using these rights does not change what you can do on the site, which is free to use.
Modifications to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect enhancements to our interactive tools, regulatory updates, or changes in analytics services. Any revisions will be published immediately on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date at the top. We encourage visitors to review this page periodically.
